ARMORIC FREIGHT INVESTS IN NEW STORAGE SOLUTION
Armoric Freight, already a well established transport company, has enlisted the help of LINPAC Storage Systems to expand the storage side of its business.
The organisation has recently moved into a 20,000 sq ft facility in the Langage Industrial Estate. The move has not only given the company new offices, it now also benefits from a larger warehouse facility which is fully fitted out with a narrow aisle storage solution from LINPAC Storage Systems.
“Our plan is to develop the storage side of our business,” says Marc Payne, managing director of Armoric Freight. “We put the racking solution for our new warehouse out to tender and we found LINPAC’s response was by far the most professional. Their designs were very specific, making the most efficient use of the available space and this filled us with confidence to buy into their proposal.”
The tailored solution has been designed with two different heights of pallet storage, offering up to four levels of storage to profile the roofline of the warehouse. The racking is laid in out in double runs in a narrow aisle configuration suitable for a Flexi-truck.
Two drive through bays through the centre of the racking act as transfer aisles to facilitate the efficient movement of pallets into and out of the racking structure. Steel decking has been utilised above the drive through bays for overhead protection.
The new warehouse has considerably increased Armoric’s storage capacity and the company is now able to concentrate on expanding that side of their business. Marc Payne concludes, “LINPAC completed the storage solution on time and within budget. They have been very professional throughout the course of the project.”
Armoric Freight offers storage for both ambient and dry goods. With easy access to the A38, linking Devon to Cornwall, Armoric is ideally situated for storage and local distribution within the South West.
